Staff Conference 2012
Staff Conference 2012
Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust held its second staff conference at Shrewsbury Town Football Club on Wednesday, May 22.
Chief Executive Jo Chambers asked staff to rise to the biggest challenge the NHS has faced in many years even though it may well take an Olympian effort to ensure we do this.
After attending workshops where staff learned more about transformational change, Foundation Trust status and improving quality of care, the Olympian theme continued with a keynote address from former athlete Derek Redmond and after hearing Derek’s story of glory in the four by 400m relay and then desperate disappointment when he was injured at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona and had to be helped over the finish line by his dad, staff left full of smiles and with a renewed sense of purpose and understanding of what it means to be part of a team and to meet challenges.
The good practice presentations delivered by Joy Tickle, Narinda Kular and Dr Ganesh are available to download.
