Welcome to the SCHT Library and Knowledge Service
We provide a library and knowledge service to members of Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust, NHS Telford and Wrekin, Shropshire County PCT, health students on placement, GPs, Social Services, Severn Hospice, and Shropshire Ambulance Service.
Resources available through the library include:
Books and Journals
SCHT staff members can borrow up to eight books at a time. Please check the library catalogue for details of the titles held in the Shropshire Health Libraries. We also offer a postal loans service; books can be requested and sent out to your workbase if you are part of the internal mail system. Electronic resources
There are a variety of electronic resources available to SCHT/PCT staff members including some SCHT only e-books and e-journals that are available to access via your SCHT ATHENS password, check the library catalogue for more e-book titles. Please see the About ATHENS page for information on registering for an ATHENS password.
Literature searching
If you don't have the time to search, or you are having difficulty finding the information you need, why not ask the library for help?
Please note that the literature search request service is not available to students working on assignments, however training on searching clinical databases can be provided.

The Immunisation Hub
The Immunisation Knowledge Hub is a pilot scheme run by the SCHT Library and Knowledge Service, which aims to keep SCHT/PCT staff up to date with the latest information and useful resources about immunisation. It gathers together the most recent information from a variety of reliable sources including the Department of Health and e-journals.
You can sign up for email updates from the Immunisation Hub, simply enter your email address in the subscribe box in the right hand column on the Immunisation Hub.
Table of Contents service
We currently offer a table of contents service for two journals, 'Practice Nursing' and 'International Journal of Therapy and Rehabilitation'.
Our table of contents service will soon be changing as SCHT Library Service moves to online only journal access. Every month, instead of receiving a paper copy of the table of contents of your chosen journals, you can receive an email update.
